Snowpants and Boots Please!

Please be sure to send snowpants and boots every day with your child.  We are dealing with cold somedays, and puddles and mud other days.  I know of families that are sending an extra pair of socks with their child, just to keep in their backpack if socks end up getting too wet during recess.  The sunny days are in sight, but we're not there yet. Thanks!

Valentines Day Party

Our Valentines Party will be held on Monday, February 14.  Each student in my class is asked to create a valentine box or bag at home and bring it to school sometime before Feb. 14.  I recently sent home a class list of names if your child would like to bring valentines to school.  Please contact me if you need a new list.

Spelling-Spelling-Spelling

I was given  great advice from a parent.  With all of the papers that come home from school, it is easy to not be sure which is our spelling list for each week.  I will be publishing them on my blog every week for your reference.  I will also indicate a date for the test on the initial beginning of the week list.  The words for this week are as follows:
  1. came
  2. game
  3. gate
  4. late
  5. lake
  6. take
  7. feet
  8. me
  9. know
  10. also

Conferences--thanks everyone!

I was glad to meet with all of you at the recent parent/teacher conferences.  Just a reminder,  this is the last scheduled conference this year, but we can meet anytime to discuss your child's progress at school!  I think perhaps the biggest challenge overall seems to be the papers not getting from school to home, or home to school.  We are now starting and ending our day with our take home folders on our desk, and hope that helps to remedy the problem for so many.  It becomes an added challenge when our specialist time takes us up to pretty much the end of the day, and we are busy putting all of our winter gear on.  Please let me know how all of this is going for your child.
